Cameras

Cameras have been a common part of our society for decades.  The first cameras appeared as early as the 1820s, and have been part of our lives ever since.  Going from large, tripod-mounted professional models to those produced for home use, cameras have changed drastically since they were first invented.  As far back as the turn of the 20th century, people recognized that amateur photography was going to play a significant role in people's lives.  Even today, smartphone cameras are changing the way that we take and share photos of our daily lives.  The RCHM has a display a variety of cameras and accessories, including flash bulbs and photo negatives, as well as a replica of an early 20th century photography studio.
