World’s Largest Record Book was manufactured in 1937 by the Globe Gazette Printing Company in Wahpeton, ND. It is 33” x 58” x 9 ½“. The paper is 100% new white cotton clippings, the finest ledger paper in America. The book contains 1,000 sheets of paper 31" x 53" weighing 387 pounds. The cover is 5 ply Western fur plywood, covered with cowhide. It was made to hold 760,000 signatures. It was first housed in Chahinkapa Park, now used as the registration book at the Richland County Historical Museum. |
